From the Sunday Times (Bryan Appleyard)
"'The truth is,' (Brian) Aldiss has written,'that we are at last living in an SF scenario. A collapsing environment, a hyperconnected world, suicide bombers, perpetual surveillance, the discovery of other solar systems, novel pathogens, tourists in space, children drugged with behaviour controllers - it's all coming true at last,'"
On behalf of all those parents whose children are on behaviour controllers, thanks for crediting us with shaping a small part of this glorious future, Brian. May I call you Brian?

Hmpf! Who is he anyway? Pffffft!
Don't rise to it, OM. The people who count will kick his butt for you...
DJK: That ole science fiction writer who apparently wields a bit of clout. Not round here, though, oh not.
Potty Mummy: Getting angst under control as we speak.
Bla bla bla. Delirious wittering, but of course so much harder to ignore than it should be, you poor thing. Oliver James used to do this to me (in his oh so helpful Observer columns): maternal stress/anxiety/depression bad for under 5s (oops, sorry children, you are apparently doomed); pre-school children who attended nursery have the cortisol levels of front line combattants and are liable to go on to lives of delinquency and emotional alienation (oops again).... Angst no more. Demand a restorative hug from someone (the cat if necessary). Would you like us all to write a letter to the Times?
You mean Ritalin?
