A touch of the school runs

NB. I have no cleaner nor Ribena but I liked the rhyme.
I don't drive to school, either.

I’ve got the school run blues
Three children and five shoes
Cake sale today: I beg the cleaner
For change. Oh, God there’s no Ribena
Food colour works instead
I dye the oj red
I’ve got the school run
I’ve got the school run blues

I’ve got the school run blues
I’d like to hit the booze
The car’s gone wrong and I can’t start it
Can’t even be the dear departed
We’ll have to walk to school
I feel a total fool
I’ve got the school run
I’ve got the school run blues

I’ve got the school run blues
In self-indulgent hues
Five minutes after leaving home and
It’s like a screening of ‘The omen’
The children’s heads spin round
They’re making eerie sounds
I’ve got the school run
I’ve got the school run blues

I’ve got the school run blues
A bomb they can’t defuse
Still miles to school and there’s the whistle
We’re late again and I know this’ll
Mean phone calls from the head
I wish that I were dead
And that’s not all – this school run sorrow
Will start again at dawn tomorrow
I’ve got the school run blues
I’ve got the school run blues
I’ve got the school run blues

OM, that is just priceless. A recording contract beckons. Maybe in Mayfair.

I've just bought some ribena today. Fortunately, Amy goes to school in a taxi.

Love the 'whistle' and 'this'll'!

So poetry in your repertoire too? I'm most impressed.

Tina: Mayfair, obviously. Will let you all come to the signing party

CJ: Taxi is harder to rhyme - but why not?

Debio: I don't do it often - it's just a way of griping in rhyme. Makes it that little bit more palatable.

Lol! I put up a similar thing from You Tube on my post dated Monday 15/10/07. Mornings...what a nightmare...

DJ: It's the nearest thing to performance art I'm ever likely to achieve.

Whistle and this'll - inspired. Or...are you cheating with some songwriting software? Out with it!

F in the F: For howling cats look no further than latest blog.

Casdok: I'm glad!

Mya: No cheating this time - though might get rhyming dictionary as have heard very useful.
